brooks avenue residence

Los Angeles, CA

The thoughtful and progressive renovation and addition to a nearly 100-year-old run-down house in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles resulted in a beautiful, functional, and award-winning LEED Platinum home. With the goal of creating one of the top green homes in California, a holistic approach was taken to transform the house. Design strategies utilized include natural and 95% LED/Energy Star lighting, solar panels, natural ventilation, high efficiency appliances, low flow fixtures, greywater recycling, roof runoff cistern collectors, 100% site water infiltration, native and drought tolerant landscape, reuse of existing wood for design elements, sustainable and durable material selections, and construction waste diversion.
