Venice Beach Bungalow

Steps away from the iconic Venice Beach Canals, this tiny bungalow was seriously dated and not very functional. We combined classic Mid Century design with a fresh beachy material palette to brighten the entire home and infuse it with pops of color.

New skylights and windows let in plenty of natural light and warmth. We added a small foyer, laundry room, storage closet and pantry all without adding a single square foot to the house. The kitchen itself received the biggest face lift with an entirely new layout, new appliances, and custom cabinets.

We preserved the dining counter from the original kitchen layout, while nearly doubling the amount of counter space. The sink moved next to a new window and now has beautiful polished nickel fixtures. We took the entry and living room floors from a dated and worn red oak to new wide plank white oak, and the kitchen and new laundry room now have a playful blue star pattern. The whole house is brighter, welcoming, and more livable.
